How much does it cost?

​All services are currently being offered exclusively online using Jane clinic software, which ensures secure and confidential services that are HIPAA/PHIPA and PIPEDA compliant. Sessions take place over video chat allowing you face to face, live contact with your therapist.

Please to offer FREE 15 minute consults for new clients. This is so that you can meet Sarah, and see if the online platform works for you. You shouldn't have to pay for something you are unsure of. Schedule your consult, and then decide if you want to book a full session. No obligations.

Price per session:
Individual: $125 + HST
Couple/Family: $135 + HST

Sliding fee scale available. Contact to discuss this option. Therapy is for everyone, and finances should not get in the way of your support. We will do everything we can to work with you on this.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee of $25.

As a Canadian Certified Counsellor, services provided by Sarah Barnes are covered by most extended health care plans as clinical counselling and can be reimbursed. Be sure to check your yearly allotments and percentages. If you're not sure where to find this information, feel free to give us a call. ​ You are able to connect with your insurance company to ask if the sessions will be covered prior to your appointment.

DIRECT BILLING

ACTS offers direct billing to select extended health providers.  Availability of this service is dependent on your insurance provider and your specific contract. Please note that all fees are ultimately the responsibility of the patient. If your claim does not go through on the day of your appointment because of technical issues or otherwise, you will pay the full amount of your visit and then submit the receipt to your insurer for processing and reimbursement.

What we need from you:
  1. Your Insurance card with policy number and member ID. If you are not the primary cardholder for the plan, we are also required to have the primary cardholder’s full name and date of birth in order to process your claim
  2. A doctors referral (if your insurer/contract requires this)
  3. A valid piece of government-issued photo ID

Common questions:

How do I know how much I am covered for? 
You can find out the details of your coverage by contacting your insurance company.  Your employer can provide contact information, or you can search for your insurance company online. Because of the confidential nature of your coverage, we do not have access to any information pertaining to your specific coverage or limits.

What if my visit is only partially covered by my insurance company?
We will still bill the maximum covered amount and then you are required to pay the remaining balance of your visit at the end of your visit.

Can I use my spouse’s benefits as well?
We can only submit to one insurance provider per visit. If there is a balance paid by you, you can then submit that receipt to your secondary (spouse's) insurance.
